Both DreamCloud Classic mattresses are 12 inches tall, both use the same CloudQuilt™ cover, and both sit on the firm side of the scale. So why do they feel different, and which one fits the way you sleep?
This guide compares the two side by side, using the specifications listed on our product pages, and shows the current prices for queen and king sizes at Mattress Deal Hub.
The Short Answer
- Choose the DreamCloud Classic Hybrid if you want a firm mattress with the bounce, airflow and edge support of coils. It works well for back sleepers, combination sleepers and couples who move around at night.
- Choose the DreamCloud Classic Memory Foam if you want the firmest possible surface and a quieter, more still feel. It is the better pick for stomach sleepers and back sleepers who like a very solid feel.
- Side sleepers may find both too firm. Look at the medium-feel options further down this page.

How the Hybrid Feels
The DreamCloud Classic Hybrid pairs a thin layer of memory foam with a layer of individually wrapped coils. The result is a firm, fairly flat surface with only light contouring.
What the coils add:
- Bounce. It is easier to change position or get out of bed than on an all-foam mattress.
- Airflow. Open space between the coils lets air move through the mattress, which helps if you tend to sleep warm.
- Edge support. The perimeter feels sturdier when you sit on the side of the bed.
Wrapped coils move independently, so the mattress still limits much of the motion when a partner turns over. It will not feel as still as the foam model, but most couples find it a good balance.
How the Memory Foam Model Feels
The DreamCloud Classic Memory Foam is rated extra firm. It uses the same 1″ memory foam comfort layer and CloudQuilt™ cover, but the support comes from foam instead of coils.
What that means in practice:
- A very solid surface. You lie on top of the mattress rather than sinking into it.
- Quiet and still. Foam absorbs movement well, so a partner’s tossing and turning is less noticeable.
- Less bounce. Some people love the steady feel; others find it harder to move around.
Which One Fits Your Sleep Position?
Back sleepers: Both work. Pick the hybrid if you want a little more give and bounce, or the memory foam model if you prefer a firmer, flatter feel.
Stomach sleepers: The extra-firm memory foam model is usually the better match. A very firm surface helps keep your hips from sinking too far below your shoulders.
Combination sleepers: The hybrid is easier to move on, so it suits people who change positions during the night.
Side sleepers: Both DreamCloud Classic models are firm, and side sleepers usually need more cushioning at the shoulders and hips. Consider medium-feel options such as the Helix Midnight (queen $949) or the Leesa Original Hybrid (queen $749), both listed in our Side Sleepers collection.
Couples: If motion transfer is your main concern, choose the memory foam model. If one partner sleeps warm or you want stronger edges, choose the hybrid.

Why These Prices Are Lower
Every mattress at Mattress Deal Hub is a new recompacted mattress: a customer return that was never slept on. Each one is cleaned, sanitized, inspected, then recompacted and resealed before it ships to you. It is the brand’s own mattress with the same materials and construction. Recompacting is a packaging method, not a product change.
That is how we can offer recognizable brands at up to 70% off. Read more in our FAQ.
FAQ
Is the DreamCloud Classic Hybrid firmer than the memory foam version?
No. On our product pages the hybrid is rated firm and the memory foam model is rated extra firm, so the memory foam model is the firmer of the two.
Which DreamCloud Classic is better for hot sleepers?
Both have a CloudQuilt™ cover with cooling fiber. The hybrid adds a coil layer that lets more air move through the mattress, so it is usually the better choice if you sleep warm.
Are both models the same height?
Yes. Both are 12 inches tall.
Can I return the mattress if it feels too firm?
No. All sales are final for comfort or firmness preference. We accept returns only if we ship the wrong product or the product is defective; see our Return & Refund Policy. That is why this guide focuses on helping you choose the right feel before you buy.
Do you deliver to Alaska or Hawaii?
Not at this time. Free delivery covers the 48 contiguous U.S. states.
